Separate Text And Numbers In Excel From Mixed Data

 


  1. Select the range of cells containing the mixed data.
  2. Press "Ctrl + G" to open the "Go To" dialog box.
  3. Click on the "Special" button at the bottom of the dialog box.
  4. In the "Go To Special" dialog box, select "Constants" and uncheck all options except "Numbers". This will select all the numbers in the selected range.
  5. Press "Ctrl + C" to copy the selected numbers.
  6. Select an empty cell where you want to paste the numbers.
  7. Right-click and select "Paste Special".
  8. In the "Paste Special" dialog box, select "Values" and click "OK". This will paste the numbers as values in the selected cell.
  9. Repeat steps 3 to 8, but select "Text" instead of "Numbers" in the "Go To Special" dialog box. This will select all the text in the selected range.
  10. Press "Ctrl + C" to copy the selected text.
  11. Select an empty cell where you want to paste the text.
  12. Right-click and select "Paste Special".
  13. In the "Paste Special" dialog box, select "Values" and click "OK". This will paste the text as values in the selected cell.

These are the steps to separate text and numbers in Excel from mixed data using "Go To Special".
