Excel Pro Trick: Insert Blank Row After Every Data Row

  1. Open your Excel file and select the column to the right of your data.
  2. In the first cell of the new column, enter "1" and then drag the fill handle down to fill in the column with values 1,2,3, etc. (as many values as there are rows of data).
  3. copy newly entered values and paste them below.
  4. Click on the first cell and click on the "Sort & Filter" button in the "Home" tab of the ribbon, and then select "Sort Smallest to Largest" to sort the data by the numbers in the new column.
